Savannah is often called America’s Most Haunted City, and October is prime time for ghost stories. From walking tours that lead you through centuries-old cemeteries to riding in a hearse (yes, you read that right), there’s a spooky adventure for everyone. Even if you’re not into the supernatural, these tours are a fun way to learn about the city’s fascinating history.

3. Oktoberfest on the River
Savannah knows how to celebrate, and our version of Oktoberfest brings River Street to life with live music, craft beers, German food, and plenty of energy. It’s the perfect way to spend a crisp fall evening, strolling the riverfront with a pretzel in one hand and a local brew in the other.

As Valentine's Day approaches, love is in the air, and what better way to celebrate than in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia? Known for its historic charm, cobblestone streets, and southern hospitality, Savannah provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic Valentine's Day. As a local I figured I would share my top 3 things in Savannah with my significant other on any budget. Whether you're a born-and-raised local, a recent transplant, or just visiting, here are some enchanting Valentine's Day date ideas that will make your heart skip a beat.

1- Romantic Walk - You don’t need to have a lot of money to walk through the picturesque Savannah streets and have a picnic in one of the 22 squares.  I absolutely love taking a leisurely stroll and enjoy looking at the historic homes, parks and cafes. My favorite place to do this is the iconic Forsyth Park. The park's romantic ambiance is heightened as the sun sets, casting a warm glow on the Spanish moss hanging from the ancient oaks. Take pictures by the fountain, enjoy the street musician and find a cozy spot on a bench or bring a blanket for a picnic, and let the magic of the moment unfold.

2- Candlelight dinner at Vics On The River – This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. Perched on the banks of the Savannah River, Vic's On The River offers a dining experience that seamlessly combines southern hospitality with exquisite cuisine. This upscale restaurant, housed in a renovated 19th-century warehouse, provides panoramic views of the river, setting the stage for a truly memorable Valentine's Day dinner. Share a plate of their famous fried green tomatoes or indulge in a perfectly cooked filet mignon. My personal favorite is the braised beef short rib.  Thank me later.

The romantic ambiance, coupled with the scenic backdrop of the Savannah River, creates an atmosphere that is sure to kindle the flames of love. Top off your evening with a decadent dessert or a spiked coffee and perhaps a toast to your enduring love.

3- Jazz’d Tapas bar – Jazz’d Tapas bar has to be my favorite spot in town. If asked to describe my perfect date night, tapas are definitely included. This hidden gem is nestled in the heart of Savannah's historic district. With its intimate ambiance, live jazz music, and an array of delectable tapas, Jazz’d sets the stage for a fun and unforgettable evening. Share small plates like the savory lamb chops, poutine or indulge in the mouthwatering truffle mac 'n' cheese. The dim lighting and soulful tunes create a cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect place to connect and savor each other's company. On a budget, no worries… they have something called tapas for 2.  For around $100 you get a choice of a soup or salad, our tapas, two deserts plus it includes soft drinks and coffee.  What more can you ask for?

In conclusion, Savannah, Georgia, provides the ideal backdrop for a romantic Valentine's Day celebration. In my opinion, no matter what you do as long as you are with that special someone you can’t go wrong. Your Valentine's Day in Savannah is bound to be a love-filled adventure.
